Honestly, the first thought that came to my mind after seeing the game in Age of Empires 4 pc was, “It doesn’t look like Age of Empires. Of course, everything can still change. I myself have never attached much importance to the appearance of any given game series, but I do realize that the Age series has its own unique atmosphere, which also owes its audiovisual setting.

In the case of’ Age of Empires 4, I felt like I was watching a kid from previous games and… the Settlers. The grounds and surroundings are extremely detailed and beautiful. Don’t get me wrong though – I’m the last person to think that reduced saturation makes the game more mature and prettier. The Age series has always been characterized by rich colors. As for the “fours,” however, it seemed to me that there were two graphic styles that didn’t like each other very much. It’s hard to see in still screenshots, but it’s evident when you watch the game in action. The creators justified the decision on this style and not another by the transparency of the game. Of course, you have to remember that the second part of the series has grown over the years and the “four” hasn’t even started yet. After all, the numbers are not impressive. However, the nations and campaigns available in the game must make up for in quality. The creators focus on asymmetric gameplay, which should be guaranteed by very different civilizations.

In the previous parts of the series, these differences, of course, also happened. Each civilization had unique bonuses and units, and the availability of upgrades and technologies in the development tree was slightly different. The Delhi Sultanate, in turn, has a unique way of developing technology with the help of specialist scientists. All of these have to be rooted in history, because – as I heard repeatedly during the presentation – Age of Empires IV free will be a “celebration of history”. However, I will get to that in a moment.

The high civilization asymmetry of a few

Levels isn’t the only change that will set the fourth installment in the series apart from the previous ones. There will be some other new stuff too, and they all look cool on paper, but I have a feeling none of these are anything that could make the rest of the series suddenly obsolete. When a new part of the beloved saga hits the market, its creators must assure fans that they will feel right at home there, that when they sit down to play it will be like meeting an old friend. which supposedly changed but actually stopped on time. Any drastic change can be seen as unwanted. However, the presence of other installments of the series on the market, one of which is really popular, and the rest is still played by a thousand to several thousand people, forces the creators of Age of Empires IV to download to make bring out their production one way or another.
