The Western series is not as popular as the Grand Theft Auto series, but its recognition still amazes. Especially when you consider that westerns are a fairly niche and forgotten subject matter even in cinema, not to mention games. In theory, the success of the Red Dead Redemption series is something that shouldn’t have succeeded, yet both parts have enjoyed huge popularity. This makes it all the more painful that the online module for RDR2 couldn’t count on as much support as GTA Online, the 2013 hit. However, by force, RDR Online could not compete with such a versatile game as GTA 5 Free Download. However, this does not mean that Rockstar Games abandoned the brand. We can count on Red Dead Redemption 3 coming in the future. Recently, new rumors about it have appeared online.
Red Dead Redemption 3 allegedly in production
The revelations in question come from a Twitter user nicknamed MyTimeToShineHello. Admittedly, the game industry is not his main interest – he is primarily involved in giving behind-the-scenes information on films, especially those belonging to Marvel’s cinematic universe, which has earned him a reputation for reliability – but this time he apparently received a leak about Rockstar’s latest endeavor. According to him, work on Red Dead Redemption 3 has already begun.
Of course, these revelations should be taken with appropriate distance. For nothing has been officially confirmed and knowing Rockstar’s policy, this will most likely be the case for a long time to come.
Red Dead Redemption 3 – when will it be released?
Studio Rockstar Games is to be respected for never showing its games prematurely. The first announcements and trailers come only when the brilliant developers have something to show and are accompanied by the certainty that nothing will get in the way of finalizing production and delivering the promised content. This is valuable especially today, when games are announced years in advance – even when they are at the stage of just a concept. It is very easy for the public to be swayed by something like this and to create great expectations that may remain unmet.
Fortunately, Rockstar Games has a different policy. Therefore, the most likely we won’t hear anything about Red Dead Redemption 3 for a long time yet.. It is worth recalling at this point that “two” was created 8 years – work began immediately after the creation of the original. On the other hand, we learned about the game 2 years before its release. Here we can also cite the example of Grand Theft Auto VI, about which – aside from the high-profile leak of September 2022 – we don’t officially know much except that it is being developed.
So if the leak that work on Red Dead Redemption 3 has already begun is true, going by this logic, the release of Rockstar’s western blockbuster will take place no earlier than 2030.
However, 2031 seems the most likely year for RDR3’s release.
It looks like we will wait a very long time even for a simple announcement. However, who knows? Perhaps the developers will surprise us in some way and it will turn out that the next installment of their popular series is closer than we think.
The plot of Red Dead Redemption 3 – what can we expect?
Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 are some of the best stories we can encounter in games. These are beautiful, but also dirty and dark stories in which nothing is black and white. This already applies to the characters themselves – in the games we direct the actions of criminals whose morality is highly questionable. Therefore, they don’t end up very well, although towards the end they try to step into the path of the law. These are also some of the few games in which the death of the main character occurs. Rarely do developers decide to make such a bold move.
The Red Dead series games feature a whole plethora of interesting characters. They could be the heroes of Red Dead Redemption 3.
Just take into account Dutch van der Linde’s gang, whose tumultuous history was presented over the course of two installments in the series. Although essentially no one from the group survived, Rockstar Games writers can still revisit the outlaws’ past, setting the plot of the next installment before the well-known events. In this way, the developers would in a way stick to tradition – after all, Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Download was a prequel to RDR1. Maybe this way we would have had the opportunity to see the famous Blackwater massacre, which we only hear about at the beginning of RDR2.
Red Dead Redemption 3 could also take a slightly different path. After all, we have the character of Jack Marston, whom we take control of in the epilogue of the “one”. We learn from it that the boy nevertheless followed in his father’s footsteps, which the latter wanted to protect him from at all costs. There are not many series on the game market that so efficiently and convincingly tell the story of the vicious circle of endless revenge. The desire to carry it out would most likely have influenced John’s son, who relished the life of a criminal, to then seek redemption.
As I mentioned above, the Red Dead universe is filled with interesting characters. One of them is undoubtedly Landon Ricketts, who plays a significant but side role in the first installment of the series. He is portrayed as a legendary gunfighter who is the protagonist of stories passed from mouth to mouth, but we meet him when he is “retired.” Not much is known about him and this is one of the strong reasons for the to reach out to this figure and tell his undoubtedly interesting story.
There are indeed quite a lot of possibilities for Red Dead Redemption 3’s storyline, but at this point we can only speculate.
Gameplay in Red Dead Redemption 3 – what boundaries will Rockstar Games cross again?
Every new Rockstar Games game is a milestone for the entire electronic entertainment industry. This statement is particularly fitting for Red Dead Redemption 2, which boasts one of the most immersive worlds we can explore. What’s fascinating is that the developers have managed to create something that lives its own life. As we play, we feel that we are just a tiny part of the virtual world. No one cares too much about us, and it’s only up to us how much of a part we will be.
The second (or rather, third – remember that before Red Dead Redemption there was Red Dead Revolver) part of the series showed how games with an open world should be created. There is no other production in which we can so comprehensively observe the daily lives of animals. This is especially evident during hunting – any player who has tried to complete all the challenges set by the developers and earn a set of trophies or achievements will confirm this.
We would expect something even better from Red Dead Redemption 3, although it’s hard to imagine what Rockstar Games would improve here.
Someone might say that the developers have reached the pinnacle of their abilities, but after all, they have already surprised us more than once. They have repeatedly done something that others could not afford to do – or didn’t want to take the risk. Personally, I count on the following. they will again offer us deep immersion and a leisurely pace of gameplayi. With these elements, the story tasted several times better, as long as we were able to stop and savor what we were served. That’s the way it is with westerns, by the way – they have their lazy, slow pace and are not meant for quick, mindless consumption.
